Mexico IS a different place. It is not the Southwestern US. This is a blog about our lives here in The Lakeside area of Ajijic and Chapala, Jalisco, Mexico since we retired here in September of 2010. It will be about daily/weekly things we experience along with occasional trips.
You enter and you're in a small eating area, food prep area and cash check out area. You are led through the state of the art kitchen, pictured, to the main dining area at the rear of the restaurant. Monday is tamales night, also known as "gringo night". The tamales are actually very good. Pictured at the left front of the foto are the tamale pots, ready for dishing out. The restaurant also does an excellent take out business and there were about 8 people standing in the kitchen waiting for their order to be assembled "para llevar" to take out. The order form is printed and is slightly larger than a 3 x 5 card. You mark either Eat In or Take out and you mark ONLY in pencil. After you've paid and left they erase the order and use the order form again. Talk about "going green"
