Mexico IS a different place. It is not the Southwestern US. This is a blog about our lives here in The Lakeside area of Ajijic and Chapala, Jalisco, Mexico since we retired here in September of 2010. It will be about daily/weekly things we experience along with occasional trips.

Local Sights
Yesterday I was on my way home, on the road along the lake that is being widened and upgraded. One the right "lane" that was being upgraded, hard compacted earth at the moment, there was a grandpa wearing his cowboy hat, slowly peddling an old balloon tire bicycle, which is a common sight. Right next to him was a younger man riding his horse, engaged in conversion. They were enjoying the delicious coolish morning air while bathed in the clear sunlight, within sight of the lake and the relative safety of the dirt lane, not in a hurry to get anywhere in particular. It was sweet.
